Chromating and Passivation

Variety of Colors

– Metapas F Yellow CA 6-Valent Chromate (Liquid)

This process is used to create a yellow chromate layer on galvanized coatings and is suitable for both rack and barrel systems. Metapas F Yellow is a thick liquid concentrate used for this purpose.

– Metapas Olive CA 6-Valent Chromate (Liquid)

This process is used to create an olive chromate layer on galvanized and cadmium coatings from appropriate acidic solutions. Metapas Olive creates a green olive coating suitable for both rack and barrel systems.

– METAPAS B-Black 6-Valent Chromate

The black passivation process is used for chromating galvanized coatings. This process can chromate parts plated in both acidic and alkaline solutions.

– Yellow Passivation 3-tank SLOTOPAS PC 1210

The process for passivating chrome-free galvanized parts uses a 6-tank yellow-colored process. The yellow chromate process SLOTOPAS G 10 is immersion-based and creates a yellow-green protective layer on galvanized parts.

– Passivation 3-tank SLOTOPAS HK 10 and SLOTOPAS PC1200

The SLOTOPAS HK 10 and SLOTOPAS PC1200 processes are used for passivating chrome-free galvanized parts. The passivation coating creates a iridescent surface in blue, yellow, and green hues on zinc (galvanized) coatings and a green-yellow surface on zinc-iron alloy, providing corrosion resistance equivalent to yellow passivation from a hexavalent chromium solution. This process is widely used in automotive components.

– Blue Passivation 3-tank SLOTOPAS Z 20 Blue

The blue passivation process includes trivalent chromium ions, fluoride, and iron inhibitors, free from hexavalent chromium ions. The SLOTOPAS Z 20 blue chromate solution creates a uniform blue-purple coating on galvanized surfaces, increasing corrosion resistance of the part.

– Black Passivation 3-tank SLOTOPAS Z 60

This chrome-free 6-tank process uses an alkaline bath to create a black passivation coating on parts. It offers excellent corrosion resistance, comparable to chrome-based hexavalent chromium solutions.

– Post-Chromate Seal Operation SLOTOFIN 10

The SLOTOFIN 10 sealing process occurs after the chromate coating stage on the surface of galvanized or galvanized alloy parts. When the Slotofin 10 solution includes only the additive Slotofin 11, a transparent protective layer is obtained on the chromated surface after drying. This layer enhances corrosion resistance and improves resistance to fingerprinting.

– Post-Chromate Seal Operation SLOTOFIN 20

SLOTOFIN 20 is a chrome-free 6-tank alkaline solution containing silicates, used as a final operation on galvanized or zinc-alloy coatings after chromating with hexavalent or chrome-free hexavalent chromium to enhance corrosion resistance.

Types of passivation and chromate processes for zinc-nickel and zinc-iron alloys.

-Black chromate for the coating of galvanized alloy zinc-iron SLOTOPAS ZE 160

Black passivation is a silver-free process that creates a uniform black chromate layer on zinc-iron alloy coatings with 3.0-6.0% iron and zinc-cobalt coatings with 2.1-6.0% cobalt. SLOTOPAS ZE 10 black chromate is a two-stage process (chromating followed by a final immersion step) suitable for both barrel and rack systems.

Transparent passivation ZN T 80

The chromate process SLOTOPAS ZN T 80 is used to create a transparent chromate layer on galvanized alloy coatings of zinc-nickel. This three-valent chromium-based process produces a uniform and transparent layer with high corrosion resistance.

– Black passivation ZN 300

The chromate solution SLOTOPAS ZN 300 creates a black and iridescent finish after lacquering and final coating operations on zinc-nickel coatings. The SLOTOPAS ZN 300 process, combined with lacquering from the SLOTOFIN series, provides a uniform black coating with high corrosion resistance.

– Yellow passivation on zinc-nickel SLOTOPAS ZNC 50

This process creates a yellow passivation coating on galvanized alloy zinc-nickel coatings with excellent corrosion resistance.

– Blue passivation on zinc-nickel SLOTOPAS ZNB 60

This process creates a blue passivation coating on galvanized alloy zinc-nickel coatings with excellent corrosion resistance.
