The SLOTONIP 70 A electroless nickel process

Schlötter offers a specialized process for electroless nickel plating with varying levels of phosphorus content.

This process is characterized by very high stability and deposition speed. It is highly cost-effective and easy to use.

The SLOTONIP 70 A process (medium phosphorus) is the most common electroless nickel-phosphorus plating process and is known for its very high stability.

Other electroless nickel processes:

SLOTONIP 90 (high phosphorus)

The SLOTONIP 90 electroless nickel process is used for depositing nickel-phosphorus chemical coatings on metals and non-metals. The appearance of the coating ranges from semi-bright to bright and contains 10.5-11.5% phosphorus. This process is particularly used where high corrosion resistance is required. It is easy to operate and maintain. The deposition rate is approximately 10-13 µm/hr.

SLOTONIP 30

SLOTONIP 1-30 electroless nickel is one of the SLOTON processes for depositing nickel-phosphorus coatings on metals and non-metallic materials. The deposited nickel layers are semi-bright to bright and contain 8.5-10% phosphorus. It is easy to operate and maintain, with very high stability. With timely and regular replenishment, a deposition rate of up to 70 g/l is achievable. The initial deposition rate is 15-18 µm/hr, which decreases to 10-12 µm/hr after the nickel concentration reaches 60 g/l.

SLOTONIP 30

The SLOTONIP 3-30 electroless nickel process is used for electroless nickel-phosphorus plating on both metals and non-metals. The deposited nickel is semi-bright to bright with a phosphorus content of 7-9%. It is easy to operate and maintain, with very high stability. With timely and regular replenishment, nickel deposition up to 70 g/l is achievable. The initial deposition rate is 15-18 µm/hr, which decreases to 10-12 µm/hr after the nickel concentration reaches 60 g/l.

SLOTONIP VN20

This process creates a preliminary electroless nickel layer on aluminum parts and their alloys. It serves as an underlayer for the main electroless nickel process, preventing the ingress of zinc from zincated baths into the main bath. It’s worth noting that this process operates at ambient temperature.

SLOTONIP 60 (nickel-boron)

The SLOTONIP 60 electroless nickel process is used for electroless nickel plating on plastics and ceramics, utilizing the developed electroless solution NIBODUR GJN. The process operates at a temperature of 50°C and a pH of approximately 5.5.

SLOTONIP 80 (for plastics and non-metals)

The SLOTONIP 80 electroless nickel process is specifically developed for electroless nickel plating on plastic and ceramic materials. It creates a nickel-phosphorus alloy coating using a hypophosphite reducer. The operating temperature is 60°C and the pH is 5.5. Plastic or ceramic parts can be coated in this bath for 10 minutes without issues, allowing for subsequent electroplating processes.
